Directly opposite the "Sherrif's Department" -- straight ahead as you look out the front door -- is an ominous-looking mill that looks like a piece of the Packard Saw Mill -- or maybe some infernal machinery out of Eraserhead. This isn't quite the Packard Mill, however. Its stand-in -- the nearby Snoqualmie Falls Sawmill, built in 1917 -- was torn down in October, 1989.
