Twin Peaks peaks

For James, it's always a good day for brooding...

Yes, the term "twin peaks" is, among other things, a juvenile vulgarism for female breasts (you don't think naughty little boy David Lynch could resist that, do you?). But, in fact, there really are a pair of peaks called Twin Peaks (though no town by that name) about 15 miles north of North Bend and Snoqualmie -- seen in the distance when James Hurley (James Marshall) drives his bike up into the hills and broods while looking across a valley. There's also another place called Twin Peaks about 20 miles farther northeast in the Snoqualmie National Forest, off Highway 92 near the village of Silverton. That's right: There are twin Twin Peaks in the area where Twin Peaks is set.  And there are campgrounds nearby at Twin Falls Lake and Twin Bridge.  The Washington State town of Twin, however, is out on the Olympic Peninsula, on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, east of Port Angeles.  More doubles, anyone?

Here's a wee map of Snoqualmie & North Bend
